GatherKin is a web-based family reunion planning platform. Organizers use it to create a shareable event page, register relatives by household, coordinate schedules and assignments, communicate changes, and manage family dues when online payments are needed.
Why GatherKin exists
Family reunions are personal, but planning them often becomes fragmented. One relative owns the spreadsheet. Another tracks payments. Dates change in a group chat. Travel details live in an email thread. Families repeatedly ask where to register or what they still owe.
GatherKin brings those moving pieces together without requiring every relative to download an app. Families open the organizer's event link from a phone or computer, register their household, and return to their secure profile when details change.

How GatherKin works
- Create an organizer account. Choose a Cookout, Local Family Reunion, or Remote Family Reunion plan.
- Build the event page. Add dates, location, registration settings, pricing, family branches, and optional questions.
- Share one link. Relatives register by household without downloading an app.
- Run the reunion. Use the organizer workspace for registrations, balances, schedules, assignments, travel information, and updates.
Plans for gatherings of different sizes
The free Cookout plan supports one active event and straightforward household registration. Local Family Reunion adds multiple active events, family dues, optional questions, itineraries, item assignments, and reminder tools. Remote Family Reunion adds destination-focused travel, lodging, installment, deadline, document, and packing coordination.
Payments and family information
GatherKin uses established service providers for core infrastructure. Organizer accounts and event records use Supabase. GatherKin subscriptions and eligible family payments use Stripe. Transactional email uses Resend, and the app is hosted on Render.
GatherKin does not store complete card numbers. Paid reunion organizers connect their own Stripe payout account for eligible family dues. Organizers remain responsible for event pricing, family refund decisions, and the accuracy of event information.
